Door lock quit working...

I just bought another G35 and today i was fixing a couple things on it. There was a rattle coming from the passenger side door so i took the panel off and it ended up being a loose screw. After removing the panel and putting it back on the door lock won't unlock and lock. I can feel it trying, but something is wrong. It worked before i took the panel off. I know before on my other G this had happened and i just toyed around with the actual cable and it started working again...any one have this problem before? Help

You can here it inside the door when you press unlock and lock its just that the cable isn't moving...

I have that same issue right now. As it's getting colder it actually will work now but it's still slow, not snappy like it should be.

If you do a search for "Door Lock Fix" there is a nice DIY with PICS on a $5 fix buy buying a separate actuator taping it into your existing wiring. I did it on both doors to my coupe and it worked like a charm! It only takes about 20 mins per side.

This is one of many "quirks" of owning a G.. I had mine do a slow death... getting to the point where the door would NOT even lock/unlock manually!! It cost an @$$ load of cash to have the actuator, latch and "misc. hardware" replaced to get it right. While i was there bitching to the Service Dude about how if this is a known problem.. and SHOULD be considered a Factory Defect and covered by Infiniti.. he told me one guy kept putting it off until they couldn't get the door open to fix it... didin't ask how it turned out... so yeah.. bad design.. we pay the cost for it... same as the window actuators... JDM electricals... probably made in ENGLAND!!!
