My Infiniti dealer told me that they don't get reimbursed from Infiniti for replacing these adn that interior wear isn't something that Infiniti covers as part of their warranty. The dealer changed mine with no questions and didn't make a big deal out of it, but later the service tech told me it is done at the dealers expense.

Just an FYI, for those that claim it's a "warranty issue".

And another thing, the best way to cut down on the wear and tear of that area, is to obviously enter and exit your G35 the Duke's of Hazard way. MWahahahahaaa
You are correct. I called Infiniti corporate and they refused to replace any of my door trim. They said it is not covered under warranty.

A service advisor has not even looked at my car and they still denied it. I dont know how you guys are getting it replaced but they wont replace mine.

Looks like there's quite a bit of inconsistency with what both dealership and Nissan Corporate is telling everyone.

My dealership said it was a warrantable item (they had so many complaints about it and they knew right off the bat what i was referring to, although this was the 4th try with a new group of service advisors, all previous attempts were denied), prior to this 4th try i called up Nissan corporate and talked to a lady who was also familiar with it and asked that i bring the car in. Her comment was that if the dealership found that it was more than regular wear and tear they (Nissan HQ) will cover it under warranty.

Honestly, i wish that was the case. I called in to corporate to complain and they escalated my issue to the regional warranty rep. Another rep called me a few days later to let me know the regional rep said that this was normal wear and tear and is not covered under warranty.

This was my 2nd Infiniti. And based on my experience, this will be my last.

Why should it be up to a dealer whether something is covered under warranty? That's asinine. All dealers are different. Corporate is supposed to be the common denominator for all of us. It's clearly a defective product. If they have had complaints about the interior, which they must have by now, then it should be a TSB or an official warranty item.

Beats me, i guess it comes down to it having the dealership being able to actually see the issue in person versus someone over the phone taking the customer's word.

Just came from a dealer in Montreal, Canada this morning. Was in for some other work and asked about the scratches. Advisor told me they haven't been able to make successful claims with Infiniti so they don't even try anymore. Looks like no dice from my experience.

Anyone in Canada have any positive experiences? If so which dealer / city?

Yeah, so I have the cheapo scratch covered trim too.

This is really frustrating and should tarnish Infiniti's name if they won't recognize the problem.

I just "upgraded" from a 97 Maxima, and the interior never had any flaws. ANY! No chipping, peeling, or lifting of paint or plastic.

It took 160K miles to finally wear through the leather shifter wrap on a 97 NISSAN MAXIMA. C'mon, a G is supposed to be the step up from the Maxima.

Can't we put a list of owners together and send this in to Infiniti/Nissan USA as a lemon law claim? Or at least petition that they make it a TSB? I'm serious about this... lets get a list together!
