Rodents nesting in the a/c vent

Anyone else having this issue? Seems like it happens more often as it gets colder, rats or mice climb up the engine bay and make their way to the open vent that leads to the hepa filter and make a nest out of it.
I came up with a solution though. I've got a jig set up to form steel mesh perfectly to fit in place to block them.
PM me if you want one

Oh yeah a buddy of mine had a mouse problem nesting in his hepa filter. The dealer told him because of the cold weather the rodents like to find somewhere warm. Needless to say it was about 1500 bucks to remove the dash and heater box to remove the nest and dead mouse. Seems like cheap insurance if you ask me.

There was a thread about this a few years ago with some pretty nasty pics.

a year and a half later (yesterday 6/7/09), i finally got my new charcoal air filter and when i opened the compartment for the filter..... this is what i got....
apparently the smell were ROTTING RATS that made a nest in my car for warmth during the winter. i guess the rats were killed by the heat of the engine and were eventually filtered through my a/c system.

enjoy.

the thought of it makes almost want to throw up knowing the air i was breathing had to go through this.

im surprised air was even able to get through.

It happened to me and my old Civic when I used to live up in Maine. When I moved to VA, my parents drove my car down to me and I noticed the cabin always smelled like someone pissed in my car. I went to the dealership and they said mice were living in there.

The rodents crawl up through the fender liner and make their way behind the battery and in through the vent opening. My perfect little screen stops that no problem. I've got about 10 more.
PM me, 24 bucks shipped =D
