Suede Visors in progress, need some help tho lol
If anyone's done this successfully I could use some tips. I'm almost done with my interior update but the visors are the last hurdle.
At the moment I have my passenger visor disassembled with the plastic bits repainted and the the two halves of the shell that used to be the stock fabric mostly wrapped with some overlap.
I'm struggling with the best way to put it all back together. I've seen guys talk about sewing them up but I suck at sewing so I'm wondering if anyone's had any luck with wrapping the individual (front and back) shells and then used any type of adhesive to hold them to the styrofoam? Spray-glue, gorilla glue, plain old super glue come to mind as options.
Even if I didn't suck at sewing I think I'd still be nervous about matching the seams well with themselves and the other stitching (steering wheel for instance). Some kind of adhesive seems like it would be a way to keep a slightly more OEM look as that's how they're built right now, or appear to be with that seam you have to cut, maybe it was just heat but either way you know what I mean.
Anyone give that a try or will I be the first? I have to ask stuff like this because I'm totally learning as I go here, and I'm kinda lost today.
And as a side note - don't let anyone tell you that black and the right shade of brown won't go together, it can be done!
