Getting Dashboard Cracks Repaired
We all know the dreaded "Cracked Dashboard" that our G's were cursed with and a few suggested fixes like a dashboard swap, dash covers and even using roofing caulk but I've yet to see a thread where someone gets the cracks professionally repaired. My cracks aren't as bad as others I've seen on this forum but they still are an eyesore. I also don't want them to increase in size if neglected especially in this hot Texas weather.
I know some of you might say this is a waste of money or how I should just ignore it and leave it alone but I don't plan on ever selling my G, and I'd love to try and keep it as prestine as possible.
I went to a couple of shops for quotes and their estimates on repairing one single crack were just ridiculous (Avg. $200 per crack). I finally got in contact with an out of town Mobile Leather & Vinyl Repair guy, he quoted me $175 to repair my whole dash (6-7 cracks) including a couple of paint scratches by the seat warmer switches. He showed me a couple before and after pictures of his work and I was impressed at how well they were repaired. I arranged to get my dashboard repaired on Saturday and when all is done I'll post pictures of how the repairs turned out. I'm not expecting it to be perfect but I'm hoping it'll be way better than the eyesores that are currently there.
*I'll update with repaired pics tomorrow *

Alright guys finally my dash is all done!
Sorry if the "after" pictures are a little dark, I had to park the car in the shade immediately to let the repair cure in the shade.
I got to say I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. No more looking at hair line cracks throughout the dash. The paint he used was spot on and the whole process took him about 2 and a half hours. They aren't 100% unnoticeable but it is no longer an eyesore. Here are the before and after pics.
He touched up the scratches around the seat warmer switches
Will be removing excess shown as soon as material cures
I was surprised how well this crack was repaired. It did leave a scar but overall still happy with the outcome.
Here's some more shots from afar.

He used a bonding spray adhesive, a clear like filler, sand paper, a heat gun and interior dye. The process was tideous and pretty impressive, he got the paint to blend in perfectly.
Thanks man
I highly recommend you do this, it'll be a huge relief not seeing the cracks all over the dash.
Here are some pics of the process he was doing.
Bonding Spray Adhesive & Clear Filler
Sanding
Some more filler & Sanding
Paint & Texture (He used a neat straw-like tool to blow and duplicate the texture onto the dash, followed by the dye paint)
And last he dried the paint with a heat gun

Here's his website Just Like New Interior
He also has a Facebook page "Just Like New Interior", really down to earth guy and he's worked with many exotics
This is what I originally wanted to do but wrapped in alcantara, sadly I just didn't have time to get to it.
