Yeah, wasn't sure hence the question mark. I keep forgetting more and more where the 05 is more like the 03-04 or more like the 06-07.

Mike, does the v1 live up to the hype? Most of the cops have made the switch to laser radar in my area

I didn't realize it had been deleted after the '04 year but it's pretty worthless really. If it were deeper, you could at least park sunglasses or pens in it.

Speaking of sunglasses, why did Infiniti make the sunglass storage compartment so damn small? I cant even fit my Ray-Bans in there.

Each pair of sunglasses glasses I own fits in the sunglass holder but there are two different orientations to make it work.

Not OP but I also have a V1, and I think it does. It has payed for itself several times over. Other than a Waze type of app there isn't much you can do about a laser speed trap, but there have been times when a stray laser beam set off my V1 before I got to the trap. Otherwise it has warned me of patrol cars waiting in the wings over 1 mile ahead on the interstate, or around blind corners on mountain roads. Having had it for several years the alerts have become second nature, and over time you learn what sound and light combos require your attention and which ones you can dismiss.

Now for some V1 story time: One early Saturday morning I was accelerating onto a nearly empty i405 highway East of Seattle just as a modified G coupe was cruising by. We flew in formation at reasonable but ticket-worthy speed for a few miles crossing over the I90 interchange, and just as we reached the end of the overpass my V1 indicated a strong Ka-band signal to my right. I quickly shifted to 5th and let off the throttle while flashing my lights at the G ahead of me, but they didn't see and continued at pace. As I got down to ~70 mph, a State Trooper merged off i90 into my blind spot, hung there for a few seconds, then took off after the other G, pulling them over as we entered Bellevue. Seeing as I was closer to the trooper that probably would have been my ticket, but the V1 saved me once again.

I literally have... alright pretty much just one other story like that, and a dozen "radar went off, I slowed down, saw a cop moments/minutes later" stories.

Since you live in Washington State you should also get Law Enforcement Memorial plates, I swear they are "get out of ticket" plates.

I have some family members who have military plates and they swear by them being the reason for a clean driving record

Not a bad idea, but I'd rather stick with standard plates. I've also thought about donating to one of the LEO funds to get a bumper/window sticker, but a good friend had one, got pulled over, and the cop said "thank's for your support" motioning to the window sticker as he handed him his ticket haha.

Real cops know most of the LEO funds are scams and they never actually receive any substantive benefit. Vast majority of $$ goes to the fund-raising contractor that is making the robocalls.

That's why I do the LEM plates, every penny of that goes to the memorial next to the Temple of Justice in Olympia.

How much does it cost, if you don't mind me asking?
