glove compartment lights won't turn off?!

so um, on my drive back from vegas i see a light peering through my glove compartment. i realized it was the light in the compartment. it doesn't turn off?! is it just my car, or did infiniti really decided to be cheap about not making some sort of sensor to know when the light isn't needed. i know it's not a big deal, but i would just expect more from them!

It stays on when the lights are on, I noticed that too. But if i turn off the headlights the light goes out.

Hi tech, isn't it?
Even my refrigerator light goes off when I close the door.

It's a safety feature Nissan made mandatory back in the late 80's...It's designed that way because if you ever get stuck inside you'll be able to see the latch and let yourself out. Ingenious!

What latch to get out? In the coupes, there's only a button to turn on/off the trunk release switch. Even if you could open the trunk, I don't recall a way to fold down the rear seats from the inside of the cabin.

in the middle of the rear seat there's a red cord if you dig your fingers in.. pull on that and your seats will fold down
