Re: PIAA bulbs for cheap

You are correct. The dome lights are T-6 type bulbs. My mistake.

As far as the running lights on our doors, nothing PIAA makes will fit. I believe someone successfully used bulbs from Raybrig. Not sure which ones, but an extensive search might bring up that thread.

I'm looking to upgrade the high beam/fog lights at the same time. If I want to match the low beam HID color as closely as possible, is the PIAA Xtreme White 60/55W = 135/125W output (4150K) the right H4 bulb to go with?

The door running lights that match the PIAA T-6s better can be found here . I found this information out from this post on freshalloy. Hope that helps!

Re: PIAA bulbs for cheap

I admit freely that I am light bulb stupid...

but is there any concern with these bulbs being hotter and burning the plastic lenses or making them brittle, etc?

Thanks ahead of time,

J

LimeG35 - I had the same reaction when I installed my PIAA domes.. I was like, jeez, this looks kinda strange. Wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but after a week or two you will love it. Now when I get in my girlfriends car, I'm like.. man, your lights are so yellow.

Limeg35,
Did you get your clear corner light yet?? How do they look with the extreme white bulbs?
I never liked the "yellowish" cast of the original lights inside, dome or entrance so I am changing them to extreme whites also,
See you around town kid, and happy driving!

Re: PIAA bulbs for cheap

Just an FYI, I put extreme whites in my clearn corner bulbs. I got pulled over within a week and got a warning to get the amber bulbs back in. According to the police, in Missouri it is required to have amber illumination in the side markers.

You are correct ncosby, maybe that is why they ship the clear lens with amber bulbs in them, legal issues!
The long strip beside the headlight housing does look good in white!

Re: PIAA bulbs for cheap

The site has different bulbs but on wedge bulbs they have more options as far as their acctual designation,
Super White
Platinum super white
xtreme white
Super plasma
I want the least amount of blue what designation is the whitest??

Re: PIAA bulbs for cheap

search through ALL the threads. camera shots can play tricks on the actual color you see. only way to tell for yourself is to buy one of each type, but that is expensive. get the extreme white like most here have gotten. it has a VERY, VERY slight hint of blue when you look at it from the top. looking at it straight on, it looks a lot more white. it all depends on the angle.

Re: PIAA bulbs for cheap

hey tbusguru...i have not got the clear corners yet, Strictly Z has been out of stock for three weeks now! and i didnt want to get them from somewhere else, i dont know which type of bulb are whiteist, but the extrem white has slight blue tint to it, i would guess, only an guess tho, that plasma are whiteist.

Have you got any more young punks try to race you???...have you notice that, there are more and more G's around here, i have seen at least 7 new ones in last week, but none of them wave back or even lQQk at my way (darn)...s.w.

Thanks for the information Drsifu1 and limeg35, it helps me a lot,
Limeg35 , if those new people heard your sound system they would stop and say hi, as far as anyone trying to race me ? no! I guess they know how fast a "G" can go even without modifications, Limeg35 next time you see me flag me down I need to talk to you, dont forget I'm the old man in the white "G".LOL

Get the PIAA LED white 168 bulb. I just put them in my side markers and clearance. The fogs are SPP superwhites www.supremepower.com

Very nice, they look good specially the side strips, thanks for the picture.
LED's should last for ever great idea! plus they draw no power at all compared to conventional bulbs.
