hid question

I have a 04 coupe. I was reading in the other post that we have projecters rather than real hid? Is this true? I've drove the tsx today and i love with lighting which i am sure they have hid. My coupe on the other hand does not have the same brightness and such... can someone clearify me on my 04 coupe has real HID or just projecters? Thanks

Re: hid question

It has real HIDs. It's just the reflectors and the bulb are weak. I think we have 4000K bulbs.

If we had HID with a projector lens (better yet a project housing), then it would be much better a little brighter and more focused.

Re: hid question

it's been established that Bulbs higher than 4000k will reduce your visible light output, so in fact you will see less.
the only reason you would use 6000k or 8000k bulbs is to get a blue-ish purple-ish shade in your headlights

Re: hid question

That's very true, 4000K is the best visibility bulb. Going up higher will give the light a bluish tint and more. And blue light and black roads don't go very well together.

Re: hid question

I see, thank you. I have one mor question, how do i get a wider range of light on my side because i feel like its not hitting it wide enough. It feels like im using regualr lighting instead of HID. The tsx has a much wider lighting spectrum. Could it because of the reflectors?

Re: hid question

Not to mention, blue light is the "fuzziest" to our eyes, which is why yellow lenses or the blue-blocker type lenses give you better vision in early morning, fog, etc -- they filter out the blue light.
