Finished my DIY LED corners!!

Thanks to the DIY article here. I made my own true LED corners. I'm not done with them yet. I'm going to disassemble them and paint the backing of the light housing to match the color I painted the circuit board.

Looks good. Even looking at that DIY I can't imagine myself having the patience to do this

The LED's look great. It feels great knowing you did it all on your own doesn't it?

where did you find this diy? i tried lookin in the diy section but didnt find it. maybe i did look hard enough it was late at night

edit: never mind i found it.

have another question though, how much room is there inside of the clear corners to work with? i was thinking of putting a CCFL tube in the clearance strip and wondered if i could put a smaller one in the clear corners what do you think?? would it be possible?

I doubt it. The lens housing has, I'd imagine, about 7-8mm of clearance at the rear of the housing, but the lens slants downward to about 2mm clearance as it goes toward the front. Think of a doorstop. I actually had to disassemble the first one I completed because I could not get the front of the lens to stay sealed due to the front two LEDs preventing the lens from sealing.

That ccfl mod is awesome. I wonder why he didn't just run the wiring through the bulb hole then seal it up. I also like that he took it out of the tube. That looks like a much easier mod to do than making the LED circuit board.
