Front Amber signal light Housing

Does anyone know how to change the front amber turn light housing to a clear one? Can it be done? Please see the circle in the picture. Sorry but I stole someone's pic.

Thanks

E_K actually did it (thread is in the Coupe forum).. according to him, it's actually cemented on, so he had to saw it off i believe.. looks good when it's cleared out, but it's always a risk when you have to take apart the headlight housing..

Pestilence's sedan has this, too, by clearcorners.com. Though, they did a little more than just the clear lens on his car -- it's blacked out with a full LED conversion. His car is the one they use on their website. They can probably do just a clear lens if that's all you want.

Cadillac Carl did this to his sedan a long time ago, and his howto is buried deep, but can probably be found in a search. He made the lens himself, since he has access to plastic fab equipment.

Well, nobody's bothered to check and see what they might offer in the way of pricing for just the clear lens.. that price includes the black-out treatment, full LED conversion, and the "we-don't-like-to-call-them-angle-eyes" things.

If you're around LA I can do it for $75. Getting the headlights out of the car is a bit tedious, so if you want me to help with that, it'll be a little more.

LOL! Is that a hint about what kind of "help" you expect from those that hover while you work?

Uh...don't want to go there.... I guess I meant I would charge an extra $30.

As far as clear inserts, I could make them, but it would take me longer to do, and I would have to charge more.

I just need the clear inserts. The rest I can do on my own. How much will you charge for a set of clear inserts? I don't mean clear like a window, but transparent?

Re: Front Amber signal light Housing

If you mean take out the orange reflector and put in another reflector that's the same exact size but clear, then you may need to look for a plastic fabricator for help, otherwise, I would need a few hours to make an exact fit.

If you mean just take out the orange reflector and leaving the piece "clear," like how I did on mine, then it's much simpler. I can do that for $30. Assuming you've opened up your own headlights at that point.

Re: Front Amber signal light Housing

Do you mean that you've removed the orange lense and not replace it with any clear plastic piece?

BTW, anyone out there know where to get this plastic fabricator stuff and how much it runs for $$$?

Re: Front Amber signal light Housing

The piece is a little bigger than just a lense. Here's an old thread that shows what CadillacCarl did to make them.

https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...&part=all&vc=1

We haven't seen him post in ages, so locating him to make these things for us is probably not an option.
