Bad Ballast? Ignitor?

Today when i turned on my headlights, I noticed that the passenger side did not light up. So I went home and took it out the bulb and looked at it. Everything looks good as when i first bought it. Then i replace the bulb with my OEM ones and turn on the light and it works. I figure since the aftermarket one looked fine, i would put it back in and see if it worked. So I did and surely enough, the light came on. So I was happy and put everything back together. About ten minutes later when i finished putting back together, I wanted to make sure everything worked as it should, so I turn on my headlights and again the passenger side is not working...i was pissed. So I'm thinking I have a bad ballast or ignitor. I go inside and surf the net, eat dinner, etc...and about two hours later i come out to try it again. I turn on my headlights and now both headlights work. I noticed that when i turned on the light, there is a buzzing sound that comes from the passenger side. Do you guys think it could be that the ballast or ignitor could be bad or going bad?

most likely the bulb. this happens when bulb is about to go. if not it's the ballast, since we have integrated iqnitors, you will need to have it replaced. Im sure it should be under warranty?

I put the bulb, that i thought blew out, back in and it works fine now. This happened before with a different aftermarket bulb i had before, but in that case the bulb was bad. This happened on the same side too. Well since its working again, i'll be ok for now. If it goes out again, i'll take it to the dealer. I'm guessing the ballast is beginning to go bad or something. we'll see. Thanks for the reply IvoryGT.

glad to help. I'd stick to Philips or Osram for bulbs. all that money it needs to last.
