Ceramic Coating

This may sound kinda odd, but here goes anyways... I know a lot of people go from the D2R bulb to the D2S bulb. and that they have to scratch off the ceramic coating on the D2R to make it work like the D2S. Now say I wanted to do the opposite...no it's not D2S into a D2R. i have an extra HID and put it into my fog light. It's very bright to say the least. The only problem is, is that it acts as a high beam as well. I wanted to cover the top portion of the bulb so that will not blind the people in front of me. Is there any material that you guys recommend that I can use to cover the top of the bulb? Can I get some kind of ceramic coating at an automotive parts store or is that something of a special order material?

TIA.

not the top of the bulb...you need to paint the reflector or cover it up the bottom half. With reflectors bottom shoots up and top shoots down.

oh... thanks for the info...that would have been troublesome if i cover the wrong part. is there anything I can do to the bulb itself? I don't really want to mess with opening up the headlight housing.

hmm...well i was thinking of using aluminum tape, but i'm afraid it might get hot and ruin the bulb or something. Well i'll see what i can do.

if you have rebased h4 hid bulbs, then you can get casper shields which block alot of the light from the top which should help with your glare issues
