Headlight recall question ?

Just wondering what happens if we ignore recall on our '06 projectors ?
Frankly I'm completely happy with my headlights and I'll just bet (as others have posted) that the dealer will somehow F.U. the install ! TIA

Having experienced crappy recall job. I wish I've left it alone. It is not a safety recall to my understanding.

From the numerous threads, don't do it. Almost eveyone stated there is no difference in the output, cutoff, etc., but there are quite a few who said they have to re-align their headlights, dealer f'ed something else, etc. As far as I know, the cut-off on the original ones were a bit high and COULD blind on-coming traffic.

Your next service at the dealership they will check to see if you did it and they will tell you to do it...

got mine done, aligntment is way off. cut-off lines however, looks 100x better. its more of a straight line now, b4, it was all over the place.

oh yeah, they scratched my fender in the process. so my fender got a little paint job. other then that, was it worth it?

NOPE.... i took a good look at the headlight and it looks like i need to remove the front bumper to re-align the headlight... Pain in the mother FN azz.

You wished you didn't do this but you can tell a difference? If it is a good difference, why wouldn't you do it (besides the crappy job)?

unless your cutoff is crooked and slanted to the side...no difference.

Had mine done and everything installed fine. Guess it boils down to which Dealers have the good competent careful mechanics.

It is a safety recall, for whoever said it isn't. It's not your safety but the other vehicles safety.
Highly unlikely but, if the other vehicle crashes or whatever due to your headlights and it's found you denied the recall, who do you think will be liable? It won't be Infiniti.
I lost my $70 AeroTect overlays to this recall, but it's worth it to me. I don't want the liability if someone crashes due to my headlights and I denied Infiniti's no cost replacement recall.
Just something to think about and just my 02.

yeah i just got the recall letter in the mail and will be taking it in tomorrow morning. i asked my friend who was driving in front of me and he admitted that my driver side headlight was blinding him pretty bad. one question though, since i swapped out my bulbs for ultinons and luminics, do you think they'll help me swap em into the new headlight?

I'd remove them yourself and put them in yourself when you get the car back, I wouldn't trust them with installing bulbs at all, I doubt they'll be carefull enough to avoid touching the glass

damn so annoying though, i dont want to have to slip the bumper off. i know you can get through the fender, but not too sure if i want to go through the hassle. but you're right, the mechanics might eff it up...anyone have experience with peninsula infiniti in redwood city?
