I am not familiar with LED displays. Are they analog? Meaning would an analog to digital converter be needed to display the information on a LCD? I have an idea and am stumped with the display on the dash (compass, HVAC and temp). Any help would be appreciated!

I think the display is a fluorescent type not LED. And yes, led drivers are usually analog devices.
