'06/'07 Projection Headlight Upgrade!
If this has been discussed before, I apologize!
I'm thinking about upgrading the headlights on my '05 coupe. Found some decent deals on ebay. Here are some questions I have if anyone can help out:
1) Is it a simple swap procedure (i.e. plug and play), or would I have to have them installed at the dealership??
2) What bulbs would you guys recommend?? Should I just go with the OEM HID bulbs??
3) Are the '06/'07 tail lights different than those on the '05?? If so, then I'll probably upgrade those as well and add on the bat overlays!
4) Anything else I should ask about when buying these on ebay??
Thanks in advance for the help guys!!

I was going to do the whole "search is your friend noob" thing. . . "blah blah, you're stupid". . . "Post funny picture"
But I wont... 1. simple swap, uses same ballasts and wiring, different HID bulb D2S instead of D2R
2. OEM is fine, it's the brightest unless you can get your hands on a set of philips 5k output, i forgot the exact model
3. the 03-05 tails are flat surfaced and have a circle reverse light, 06-07 are embossed or indented with a rectangular reverse light and button for smart key feature oly available for 06-07
4. if you have money, buy from here, usually it's cheaper and you get to know the people if you have problems

Foglights were not the same when I upgraded my headlights. I bought a set of 06/07 headlights and they came with the H1 foglamps not the 9003 foglights that were in my original headlamps. I believe that infiniti changed the lights for the 07 model. I ended up putting HIDs in my fogs (which was not a simple plug and play).
But the overall headlight swap was simple and took me about hour and a half.

I love the output of my HID fogs, but, you have to make sure that you get the right kind of kit. Most HID aftermarket kits come with a rebased D2S bulb. The D2S bulb will create tons of glare for oncoming traffic. The kit that I bought came with a D2R bulb and I tested the best I could with friends to ensure that they were not blinding on coming traffic.
To install the HID bulbs you have to be prepared to cut the wire feeds from the bulbs to run through a hole that is drilled in the light housing cap then seal it with heavy duty heat resistant silicone to keep water/vapor from getting in the housing and ruining the inside of the light housing. You will also have to pop out the existing rubber seal on the light cap to force two more wires through the existing hole and carefully sealing it up with more silicone to prevent water/vapors from getting into the light housing. You will also have to cut the connectors off the aftermarket bulb to run the wires through the hole you drilled and reattach the connectors so you can plug it into the aftermarket ballast.
There may be an easier way of doing this, but that was the only way I could think of installing them and so far its worked fine for me. Just make sure that whoever you by the lights from, ask them what size foglamp bulbs are. You can get regular halogen bulbs in the color that you want, but my experience with the aftermarket 4300K+ bulbs is that they do not last very long at all.
