Removing Tailights

Just wondering whats the best way to take off the rear tailights, do I access the mounting screws behind the trunk carpet? I wanted to have the tailights off so that I can easily put on the BAT overlays. Thanks

lift the spare cover and remove the nuts holding the plactic trunk liner. you will see more nuts holding the tailight unit onto the rear panel (about six or so). once you remove the light, you will have to unclip the wiring harnesses.

I don't know how the 07's are, but for the sedans its pretty easy. Take off 2 clips on each side on the little plastic bump guard (The plastic piece around the metal latch of the trunk). The take out the cargo net clips and 1 (maybe 2) more clips in the carpet close to the tail light. Pull the carpet down and you'll see the tail light. There are 3 nuts per tail light that you need to take off (12mm if I remember right). Be sure to disconnect the wiring harness first. Then just pull straight out after the nuts are off.

IMO you do not need to replace the seal unless its ripped. Mine still had some adhesiveness to it when I took them out and had no holes in it. The seal is the piece that feels like foam and is about 1/4" thick.

It could be 8mm on the sedan too, I was just shooting at the hip on the size
