Does any1 know how to safely remove the bottom door light cover and map light cover? Do you use a screw driver? I am trying to install LEDs and trying not to break anything?
thanks mike

sticker your finger into the edge of the map light and pull down. it;s either the outer edge or inner edge. you'll know when it pops out. doesn't require too much force.
for the door lights, you might need to remove the door panel. otherwise try sticking a flat head screwdriver in one of the edge. the light cover is held on with two clips.

on the door i just stuck a flat head in there and popped it out, it only will come out an inch or so, so it's kinda hard to put the bulb in there, but it's better than taking the whole panel off, this may sound stupid but i laid on the ground to get to the bulb and put my foot on the switch thing that cause the light to turn on, because those thing get f***in hot when they're on for like 30 secs.
I'm thinking of switching to LED's on my door lights, dome lights, and license plate lights. Just a few questions:
1) Where can I get the bulbs from? (What are the best LED's out there?)
2) How much am I looking at?
3) How often will I have to change the bulbs?
4) Any other advice?
Thanks in advance!

Ok. As far as LED's are concerned, V-LEDS have proven themselves time and time again. These are the exact bulbs I am running:
License Plate:

I took sfgr415's advice from other threads on this subject and recently installed hyper white LEDs from V-LEDS in my map light (3022 bulb), door light (3022 bulb) and license plate lights (194 bulb). They have a slight blue shade to them, but they look realllly clean. Since it was the first time I did this, install took a little over 45 minutes for all 6 bulbs (~5 min map lights, ~35 min door lights and ~10 min license plate lights).
One piece of advice: Make sure the LED is in the correct way before you reinstall the cover, 'cuz the direction does matter.
The map light is really easy to remove, wedge with a flathead screwdriver gently and alternate sides of the light and it'll pop out eventually.
The door lights were tricky... You DO NOT have to remove the panel, you just have to have some patience. Lay on your back, use a screw driver (flathead) to wedge out each side, and it'll pop downwards. Don't be afraid to apply pressure, I don't think they're in any danger of breaking. It's true there isn't a lot of slack on the wire, but if you pull you can get maybe another inch or two and that's all you need. I twisted the light until it was sideways and stuck so it wouldn't retract back into the door. (BE WARNED -- once you unplug the light assembly it may be difficult to plug it in again because there is not much slack on the cord {at least for the driver door, 'cuz I'm right-handed and it took me about 10 minutes and a ****load of patience to plug it back in}). Then, disconnect the light and assembly (because it is definitely hot as hell) by pushing down on the white plastic part just above the little clip that sticks out (and the plastic part of the assembly) and pull downwards. The assembly is actually plugged into this white part. Now, the assembly should be out and you can replace the light bulb. To reinstall, plug the assembly back in by holding the white clip with one hand and the assembly with the other. Then, slide the light back up into the hole with the light bulb facing the outside of the car if the door were closed and make sure the part of the assembly that has the two silver-looking things inside the plastic on each of the sides is facing downwards. Push it back in until it pops into place and you're done.
License plate lights weren't as bad. Just have to get on your back and wedge once again. However, these lights are wedge lights installed into a "turn and screw" clip like most headlight bulbs, so you have to pull the assembly down and remove the plastic cover (push and twist) to expose the light bulb.
Good luck!

^^^ glad to hear you like your lights. the doors actually took me like 3-5 mins for the first door and like 1 minute for the other. I can't even tell you how many times I have changed the license plate lights. I must have tried almost every bulb V-LEDS offers in a 194. By far, high power is the best.
