1 06 D2S bulb not working

I have an 03 coupe 6MT and replaced the headlights/bulbs with the 06 HIDs and the driver side D2s bulb is not lighting up. Is this a bulb, ballast, or fuse issue? All the other bulbs light up, you know the city, and fog lights. Anyone else have this issue? The bulbs shouldn't burn out that fast right?

try swapping the good bulb to the other side to determine if its the bulb or the ballast/ignitor. Its not the fuse because both headlights are on the same one. The bulbs can easily be damaged and stop working, especially if they are used, or they could have been contaminated with hand oils which would cause them to fail prematurely as well.

Let me guess, you bought recalled headlights?

most likely it is your bulb or your ballast. swap from one side to the other to troubleshoot.

I don't know if they are recalled, but yeah, I bought them used. So this means i got to remove my bumber again and get in there. I know you can get in there through the weel well, but if I'm going to be swapping and troubleshooting, I might as well remove the bumper. I really hope its not my ballast. Which one is more expensive ballast or bulb? And what is the matching replacement bulb specs? is it a D2S Phillips 5000K bulb? Also, why would the ballast go bad so quickly? I replaced those headlights just a week ago, I was pretty sure i tightened the ballast screws pretty well so no water would get in there.

ballast is more expensive... but most likely it should be the bulbs. our bulbs are 4300k. if you need bulbs, i know shipsaeki is selling brand new bulbs for a REALLY good price

OEM bulbs for 06+ headlights are Philips 85122+. I believe they are rated at 4100K or 4200K. I believe they put out 3400 lumens.

I would suggest taking the lights off as you may need to swap ballasts which are located on the bottom of the light.

before you take the lights out (If you haven't done so already) I would swap bulbs from left to right. This way you know if it's a bulb issue or not off the bat.

Sometimes it can be the ballast, sometimes it could be the igniter, sometimes the bulb.

If you need bulbs. I have some. Let me know. Good luck!
