Stock is 4100K. I would stay away from 8000K, the light output and quality of these bulbs will be crappy. If you want a good replacement try the Philips Ultinon 6000K D2R or PIAA 6600K D2R. These will be direct replacements.

i thought 6000k had only a slight loss in brightness, not 25%??? that seems a like alot for a 1800K difference. i'm not going to do doubt redlude because he knows his stuff but i can just imagine the kind of light output i'd be losing or someone else would be losing when deciding to go with 8 or 10000k or more....

Actually, a 3200 lumen to a 2800 lumen decrease is roughly a 13-14% loss, so it's not that bad a loss when going up to 6K's

2400 lumens is the best case output of a d2r ultinon bulb, it can be as low as ~1800 lumens
so let me get this right.. if you were to do a full Quad Bi-xenon setup (like redlude is about to do) what would YOU put on YOURS???
and if answer was not 6000k then why not??? are you going for output, color, both??

and 6000K was a good compromise
