Here are some pics of my modded TL/ZKW replica lenses. The pics were taken at about 23-25ft. I just bent the TL shield a little from the inside. Let me know what you guys think.

TL/ZKW replica slant @ about 25ft. bent shield slightly

TL/ZKW replica slant @ about 25ft. (close up)

TL/ZKW replica step up @ about 25ft.

I am still not done working on the headlights. I have one pretty much done but I need a little more work. I am going to have a G35 with clear TSX lense mod at the top (aka single xenon) and a (Bi-xenon) Acura TL/ZKW replica on the bottom or foglight area.

Thanks ttrank, I do have to admit that I got a kick out of color modding them.
Isn't the factory '06 G35 xenon a bi-xenon? Does this change when you do the TSX lense mod? I am curious because I am thinking of trying this mod myself.

G35 bi-xenon can retain its full function if you try the mod. You should try it out.

Yeah, a very, very slight shield bend forward or down did the trick

I might try and get the slant one a little more sharper but it good enough for me right now.

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! Its hasnt been that difficult but I have yet to try and aim them so I can't fully say. I'm still waiting for some parts before I try to aim.

if you try spacing out the lens a bit you might get slight better results.

Do you mean like actually adding a rubber/carboard spacer to the lense?

If so, I can give it a shot.

Where did you get your ZKW replica?

I got a set of 330xi projectors off ebay that I was sure had the ZKW but they are still fuzzy at the center of the lens so I still have somewhat of a hot spot in the center of mine. Yours already look better than mine for sharpness, mine have more color but I would like to get rid of the center blur and don't want to spend another $200 on real ZKW's. I have too much in these headlights as-is!

Thanks

If your lenses are clear then it is possible to achieve a sharp cutoff.

I would try to bend the shield very lightly or rotate the lense. When I mean bend the shield, that means put a small amount of pressure on the shield with your finger. I know the TL shield is stiff but small amounts of pressure are better.

I got my ZKW replicas from IvoryGT.
