Question 03 Sedan HID upgrade or install HID fog light?

hi all,
I have a 03 sedan with stock HID, however the visibility isn't too well, so im thinking about upgrade the bulb or change factory fog light to HID.

Any recommandation?

For the fog light, do i have to buy a whole new HID kit?

If your 03 sedan is still on the OEM bulbs, then they are probably past their optimal output lifetime. Purchasing new phillips 85126+ d2r bulbs will provide you with the most output. As far as changing the foglight to HID, this is a very bad idea because the halogen reflector housing was not designed for HID, and thus an HID kit will cause significant glare for other drivers on the road, making your car a safety hazard.

I see, thank you!! so do you think its possible to change bulb myself or its better bringing it to elsewhere to do it?

BTW, phillips 85126+ d2r bulbs, is it the 5000k? are there other alternatives?

You should be able to change them yourself, its relatively simple. 85126+ are not 5000k, they are 4300k and are colorshift resistant bulbs that put out more lumens than any other 35w bulb, and hold their lumen output longer than normal bulbs. Other alternatives are normal 85126 bulbs, which are likely what are in your headlights currently. I don't recommend any aftermarket high kelvin rating bulbs at all because they put out significantly less output than stock. At least 25% less.

I just put a HID foglight kit on my 03 Max and it has no glare at all and looks fantastic. I was considering this for my G, but was concerned about the damn integrated fogs. Has anyone done this and had horrible glare or are you just saying that in general you think it's a bad idea?

Just get some Yellow H4 Luminics for the fogs. It's cheaper and the light output will be better.

thats hardly proof there isn't glare. how about some night wall shots without the headlights on from 15-25ft? That will determine glare, not daytime shots from close distance.

So that means the high Kelvin bulbs only look brighter outside the car but the visibility won't be that great when driving?

I see, cuz i did some research on google but i can't find phillips 85126"+" d2r bulbs

Fair enough, they are aimed just like the stock fogs, they only illuminate maybe the 30ft(? guesstimate) in front of the car. I'm doing the foglight only mod today so I'll try to get pics of just the HID fogs up so you can see.
