I have an 04 sedan with factory HID. I will be swapping the lenses and paiting the housing black. I figured while Im doing that I may upgrade the bulbs too. What would be something better than what the factory installed. Also, when the lights are on, there is yellowish tint to it, I believe this would be the parking lights. What bulb can I buy to make it white that is straight replacement to what I have. Sorry if the questions seem dumb, im just beyond confused with all the information thats on this site in regards to lights.

 

Are you looking to replace the low beam bulbs (HID-D2R type)? If so, there are not many better options than what you already have so I would stick with what you got. That bulb with the yellowish tint is indeed the parking light (168 type). I changed mine to LED that emits a bluish/white light which matches my factory HIDs nicely.

 

Yeah thats what i want to do. I just want to get rid of the yellow. So thats what I need to look for, 168 type bulb?

 

Yep that's all you need to look for. I provided a couple pics of where to locate the city light bulb. To remove the bulb, just twist the plastic holder of the bulb and pull out, then pull the bulb out by itself.

 

Good stuff, thanks. What about the bumper turn signals. Is that part of what makes my lights have a slight yellow aura, should I replace those? If so with what? and do I have to replace the lights AND the bumper light housing? And would be a good replacement for the High Beams? I basically would like to make the light from the headlight as white as possible.

 

I think you're referring the "bumper turn signals" to the corner lights which turn on when the headlights and/or parking lights are on. You can replace those corner lights which are amber from factory with JDM clear corner lights which can be purchased for roughly $35 shipped from Everythingg35.com (search around on their website).

Since you say that you want your headlight to emit white light all around, you can replace the high beam/fog light with a few options like PIAA Xtreme White, Luminics, Razo, etc. The light bulb type for the fog light is H4. You can find lots of bulb options on Ebay or other aftermarket lighting vendors (optauto.com, midnightmoose.com, etc.)
