Exclamation Problem removing third brake light

I have a 2003 Coupe. I'm trying to remove the third brake light. I searched and noticed someone said to push towards the window and pull up, i tried it and it isn't working. I can't push to the window, there is not enough room. I thinking of using a flat head, but it might damage it. Can some one help? Any suggestions to stop my frustrating would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not changing the bulb, I bought a sticker to put over the brake light [from custombrakelights.com]

I removed them prior to getting tinted windows and if I recall, you push the center towards the back and pull up. Once the back tab is free, slide the whole thing towards the front and undo the wire harness. This was for an '05 coupe. Something of that nature but it doesn't require any tools.
