Want whiter HID bulbs?

Don't want to go 6000K+ and lose a crap load of output at the same time for a little whiter (really is blue purple for 6000K) bulb?

here it is

Real Philips 5000K...finally got my hands on a pair to test.

Here's a reference of all the bulbs Philips Japan offers (the picture is taken at an angle. 3000K text is now shown for the bottom bulb)

Output

85122+

85122CX

4200K

5000K

Top is 5000K bottom is 4200K (OEM)

For those pursuit the white output without losing too much lumen. this would be it.

Sweet! Are you getting some to sell, or where would I go if I wanted to get my hands on some of these? Color and output look great!

Or you could also run your HID's 24/7, and let the bulb naturally colorshift to 5000K

thats only true if you have normal 85122 bulbs, the newer 85122+ bulbs that our cars come with stock are colorshift resistant

Nice pics Paul, I thought the code for them with 85122CM but I guess its CX, nice to know for the future

Are the Philips 5000k 85122CX only D2S bulbs? Ive been looking at a few sites and cant find them for D2R (i have an 03 coupe). I did find the Philips 5000k 85126CX bulbs. Are they similar?

85126cx would be the d2r version. 85122XX=d2s, 85126XX-d2r

Thanks Ivory! it would be super sick if you could get a group buy offer on these... i've been holding out for the perfect bulb to be demo'd.

I'll ask..but Im not confident with people's group buy tendencies. It'll be around $210 shipped (watching people run away. )

The 85122CM is the colormatch one for european market, these are CX for the Asian market and CM is 4900K, Im not sure if CX is the same or actually 5000K.

I tried finding technical data on these, havn't found them so I dont have the lumen output.

Also colorshifted bulbs will be severely dimmed, where these are brand new and almost as bright as 4200K
