I just replaced my fog's yesterday, it was pain in the ***. you have to remove the fender liner in the wheel well to get access to the lights, you need to remove one screw and 4 or 5 clips, and it helps if you jack up the car a little or remove the wheel.

I did the fogs once on my '04 headlights. You're right - a jack would make the job much easier.

The damn housing for the fog is so small/tight that i ended up scraping away the skin on my thumbs just trying to put the damn bulb in. Should've worn latex gloves but that may not even have helped... I've still got small scars on each thumb knuckle

Yeah me too, it seems every time I touch my car I bleed. I think when I make my mods list I'm including the 5 gallons of blood I must have lost...

btw everyone if you are going to buy some use coupon code CLUBLEX for 10% off your order at V-leds.com

Which website is that for?

BTW i just swapped over my 194/168 High Power white LEDs from my '04 clearance strips to my '06 driving lights. Looks really good.

Only problem is now my left fog doesn't work. It's possible it just burnt out, but I know it worked last week. Oh well. The fogs are an ugly yellow and I don't use them anyway. Unlike on the '04's they're not needed for high beams.

Anyone running the VLED fogs in their projector headlights? They might actually work since the projectors don't use the fogs as a high beam unlike the earlier lights

These are the H1 bulbs:

I am happy with the results and they are plenty bright at night using single direction output as the lens on the city and sides do help spread the light a bit. If you want total coverage a single bulb will never do it. You will have to go with CCFL or multiple LED strips. Both have been done so search for CCFL and it should give you some examples. Its not exactly a plug n play option though and definitely more time and money will be involved. For now, I have attached some pictures of mine as examples. Hope that helps.
Thanks a bunch Rhino, you totally resurrected this thread
The pictures really help, so thanks for posting those as well as your opinion.
I think the forward firing lights look fine too and will probably pick those up, I wish there was a mini tower that would spread a bit more in the sidemarkers, but it seems like they look fine.
Sadly I have an '06 and I don't have the clearance light like you. The city light I was referring to was the one in the fog-light housing that flips on along with your headlights when the fogs are off to illuminate that reflector slightly.
I hate the yellow in that particular bulb, but I just went and noticed even the stock filament bulb is pretty forward firing...so whatever. I suppose I'll just order em.

Everyone else, post up some pics too...

Haha yeah that darn yellow light was driving me insane. After reading this thread today I decided to head outside and make that switch. Now I've got the v-leds.com High power white 194/168 bulbs in each of my driving lights. It looks SICK.

I'll try to get a pic tonight when it's dark (camera phone probably) and post it up

Oh and I have the v-leds high power whites pretty much everywhere else, too... (sidemarker, under door, interior dome lights, license plate lights, reverse lights)

^ That's fantastic, do post some pics! I'm sure it looks great.

I just placed my order for the domes and under door along with the 3 pairs of 194/168s for city, sidemarkers, and plates.
I can't wait until they come in so I can get rid of the ugly yellowness.

You're going to be really happy with the difference... LEDs were the first mods (aside from clear corners) I did and they clean up/personalize the look of your car so much. They're well worth it!

I agree. LEDs are a quick, inexpensive way to mod your car. I have been very happy with mine.

Pics!

Several different angles of the new headlights so that you can see it doesn't really fill up the whole housing as it looks in a few of them. I still think it looks pretty cool!

Old '04 Headlights (I sorta miss the clearance strip haha) *camera phone on this one - sorry*

Now to the '06 Projectors...
