Just leave the housing there. With or without, it's not going to bother you. If you don't have a spoiler, I'd leave the bulbs connected.

Just remove the entire housing as they suggested, which leaves the hole.. so I just put the Bose CD case there and a black umbrella.. totally covers the hole just make sure they squeeze tight between the rear seat and the rear window so it doesn't move around when you turn

ok, the housing was removed entirely and it did leave about 4 rectangle holes in the deck.

Anyone have a deck they want to sell. Stone color?

You could get some scraps from an auto interior shop and make a cover out of some kind of board and some "matching" vinyl. I got creative with the best matching scrap I could get for free. I don't have a Bose stereo so my rear deck had more room to work with. The infiniti symbol is not as obscene...obvious... as it looks due to the slope of the rear window.

It also makes a cool ghost reflection in the rear view mirror This picture's reflection is much stronger than what you actually see on the road.

I just noticed last night (well, I actually put a weight on the brake pedal and got out and looked) after 10 months that the rear deck brake light doesn't come on in my car. In my 97 SE Maxima it didn't come with the rear deck light. I'd see other cars, presumably GLEs and GXEs, that had the spoiler option that came with the rear deck brake light and half the time it was working with the spoiler and trunk brake lights and half the time it was not. I was assuming that the factory hooked the rear deck light up and maybe the stealerships added spoilers after the fact and maybe they neglected to hook them up. Is it often the case with G35 sedans (like my 04) that the center brake light is left unhooked when a spoiler is added from the factory or by the dealer? I'm about to get tint and I think I like the idea of a hidden LED that lights up through the tint when I brake, and I was wondering if I should move it out of the way so that the tint guys can put it in there with less of a problem, and if I was doing that, I may as well get the thing working again, if it was ever hooked up and worked at all.
