Broken Tab Headlight Question/Help!

Summary: Received pair of 07 projector headlights, tab on driver's side headlight broken. Something broken/rattling inside passenger side headlight, didn't have time to figure that one out before work.

1. Almost 100% sure the tab broke off in shipping due to how sender packaged it (or lack thereof )

2. Attached are pictures of the broken tab and how the tab should look

3. Am I SOL or is there a way to fix this? Looking for any and all solutions here.

4. I am assuming that all tabs are crucial in mounting the headlight, otherwise they wouldn't exist. Is this true?

Thank you and I will update this post about the problem with the passenger light when I figure out what broke inside.

After messing around with the passenger side light a bit more and inspecting it closer, I still can't get whatever it is inside to slip out the back... nor can I see anything broken. I guess I won't know until I bake it apart?

Any ideas about the tab anyone?

Thanks

That tab will hold the front end of the fender, so I'm sure you'll need it. Did you buy it new from a store? If so, why not have them replace it. If you bought it used...you could try to use JB weld and put it back together. I'm sure it'll hold.

Bought it used.

I just searched JB Weld... wow I never knew that stuff even existed! Thanks for the suggestion... it sounds like that stuff will definitely do the trick... Im so relieved!

Any other suggestions still welcome, Ill be checking back on the thread and posting updates as they come.

There is a ton of stuff that will work for that, SEM, Fusor, and JB weld. Here is the thing that will make it work or not. SAND BOTH PIECES THAT YOU WANT TO STICK TOGETHER! 80grit to 320grit then clean to get off the dust, dirt, wax, grease, ect.
