I just recently bought my 06 Sedan in Liquid Platinum. While I don't plan to totally mod mine (I bought it cause I love it), hanging around here does rub off on you a little bit. I completely think that going clear side will look great. I think it is cheapest most attractive mod. Is there any problem or extra attraction to going clear over amber (police wise). I imagine I have a white bulb under amber plastic. My thought was to first change out the abmer to the JBM clear (probably from riverside infiniti).

Thoughts?

Well it more or less depends on how strict the local police and inspection agencys are.

Technically, US cars are required to have an amber reflector in the front of the car visible from the side and front. So swapping to a clear reflector is technically not legal.

Will you get busted for it? Prob not. If you want, you can do the clear corner and install an amber bulb.

I agree hanging around here does give you the mod bug. I just swapped all my interior lights to white LED's and just did my plate and reverse lights in white LED. Looks awesome! Next up..something with the fog lights

ACEG35x! Welcome! First, i'd say get rid of that trim thing on your bumper, no offense or anything, but its butt ugly lol

2. Easy mods? Debadge, put LEDs in your license plate lights, maybe the grill, little things.

3. Get white LEDs. Its almost like the appearance of blue, but yet, its not BRIGHT blue. This is probably like what you saw.

This is my car. Few pics of my light setup. 3k Fogs, 8k HIDs, and SMT LEDs on both the front corners and license plate lights.

Good luck and have fun modding!

I got the luminics bulbs, but unsure if i want to use them or try and find a white bulb.

The interior LED's were easy to swap. I did all 6 of the inside LED's with white 9-LED festoon bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com, but i've found that SMD LED's offer a more crisp pure white color. So now i'm debating changing them all over to SMD's from www.vleds.com

I did my reverse lights with the 5Watt LED's from vleds and they are actually bright enough that I can see with!

The blue LEDs are going in the door, upper and lower glove, and trunk
The rest is going in the front and back map lights..
My Xentech 9003, 3000k fogs are coming in as well..
Also the car will be debadged this weekend...
I will try to post before and after pics for the people who are still on the fence with interior lights..

And btw WannabeMT6... thank you for the pics of your lights.. its the reason i was inspired to upgrade my fogs.. as far as that trim around the car... ill get that removed when i a fix a little dent in my right rear door.. Also shout out to Mustang5L5 for the advice..
I know theres going to be haters on the blue LEDs.. so just save it..

As far as the LEDs go.. theres gonna be a range of LEDs you can get.. some brighter than others... my list has the side markers and license plate being the brightest.. and i picked up 16 S-SMT for the map lights.. def. brighter than 6 or 9..

Def post pics later. I'm curious to see how your 16 SMT LED's look. If they are nice and white, i may need to make another order.

BTW, anybody know what to do about the vanity light bulb? That crappy orange glow is killing me

Ace, please make sure you get just as many before pics so it is easier to see what the "change" is like, not just how it turns out.

Thanks,
Dave

I'd like to see pics of your fogs. Im debating on putting in an HID fog kit, but cant decide on 5k or 3k.

Post pics when they are in there and how you mounted the ballasts and stuff.

And congrats on the lights. Glad to see you got white ones.
