Rear Fog light change?

Hey guys,

im a total novice with G35's.

was wondering if someone could tell me if there is a way of changing the rear fog lights?

i have a switch which lights up when you press it (its near the boot release) i thought it was the rear fogs, but it doesnt do anything.

i tried taking the rear brake lights off to see if maybe the bulb is gone, but i could only see the circuit board from the back, i cant access the bulb itself (if indeed it even exists) (mind my lack of jargon).

is there a way of getting inside? it seems like its all seals up and there are no clips!

Thank you in advance

any help would be appreciated (i searched the forum as much as i could to see if there was an old thread but couldnt find anything)

american cars (G35) and japanese (skyline) dont come with rear fogs, thats y i dont think i have them either (mines and import) but by uk law i need to have em!

the purpose of fog lights in the rear is so that people behind you have a better chance of knowing whats in front of them. its a safety measure. the standard is to have a 21v bulb (in red)

the suggestions for me were to replace the reverse light bulb to a red 21v bulb and rewire it to a switch in the car to work as a fog light. because you only need one reverse light in theory...OR attach an ugly A$$ square shaped off the market fog light underneath the license plate.

but once i got the rear lights to pop out (by undoing it through the boot) i realised that i couldnt access anything behind the circuit board as it seems all sealed up. to avoid moisture getting in i pressume. therefore my question is, how can i access the reverse light bulb to be able to take it out or even replace it and if i can, is it a simple job of changing light bulbs or would i need to solder etc?

Dofu. i am not sure if i have them or not, thats what i need to find out. there is a switch next to the VDC button which lights up when i turn my headlamps on, so there is a connection of some sort, but i cant work out if infact (if i have rear fogs installed pre purchase) the light bulbs have gone, or do i just not have rear fogs! bloody hell this is getting confusing

.
pics would be useless as you could just look at your brake lights. they are the same.

ill post em anyway.

i can post pics of the back of light units as its too dark for me to unscrew anything

so in essence, theses are just bright bulbs behind the car.... i see.
well idk how good you are at electricial, i got the fixtures open and messed with mine, you could do the same.
im not sure on a coupe, but i know for the sedan if you get to the back of the fixture for the brake light, theres a plastic fixture with 2 wires goin to it that you twist and it pops out and the reverse bulb is mounted to it. so your idea would be make one reverse light for reverse and the other a bright red bulb?
ps- im kinda curious, what does that switch look like?

if you remove the tail light its really easy. you should have 2 bulbs and a plug for the leds. one bulb for the turn signal and other bulb for the reverse.
