lensed dont need to be spaced . Hardest part is bending the cutoff shield and lower projector . Btw there is no way the 04 clearance light will fit at all . The housing is different and doesnt have the room cuz the projector mounts are in the way . There is roughly 1/4" depth x 1/4" wide in that area . The hardest part of my headlights was building the led boards for my clearance strip expecially with the curve and 20-30 wires running to my microcontroller .

Here is the basic setup. I set the projectors into the bracket to see where I needed a mounting point. If there was no material there, I extended the bracket with the cutting board material. I've used this plastic before and it is fairly easy to work with and very stiff. After adding the plastic, I placed the projectors back in and marked holes to be drilled. Then I used 8-32 nuts, bolts, and lockwashers to attach the projectors to the bracket.

Attaching them to the bracket like that lets me use the stock adjustments once I have them mounted on the bracket correctly.

need to finish sourcing all the parts first but i was hoping to re-use just the lens from the older clearance strip not the entire unit as i will be doing a custom led strip...my goal is to create a similar look that clearcorners has done with their 06 lights...if not then i need to figure out some form of light guide since i do not want to drill holes for each led

here's an example of a clearcorners 06 light with a clearance strip

They are using sheets of home depot ceiling cover with cheap led strips behind .Clearcorners loves there ebay led strips. To do that is simple .Just cut out the area on the shround and glue the hd lens on the back . Stick a flexible led strip behind it and your done .

I would be worried about the HD florescent plastic covering turning yellow (or worse... cracking) from the heat and sun. Even the OE strips turn yellow over time.

Hmm, hopefully not. I just did exactly that today.

@visibiliti why did you choose to not use the existing foglight circuit? Did you ever get the lower projector aimed higher to function as dual lowbeams? I have a spare sets of 06 projectors/ballasts and four 85122 FS (6700K phillips) so i'm getting ready to start a year long project haha.

Also have a quick question. Did you start off with the 06+ lights that already had a single projector and just fitted 2 more oem projectors into the lower section?

Or is it possible to take my stock 04 lights w/out projectors and source 4 projectors/shrouds and do this same thing?

I chose not to use the existing foglight circuit becuase I didn't know whether the tiny-*** gauge wire could support the current needed for the ballasts. I'm not an EE, so maybe using a separate harness was overkill, but I wanted to be safe and TRS sold the harness for only like $20 IIRC.

I actually ended up selling the car before re-aiming the lower ones. Kind of a "waste" I know, but... whatever. :P

My headlights (that I took off the car before selling) are actually sitting in my living room right now, and I want to sell them (for over $1k). But I am reluctant to put them on the forums because of all the low ball offers I will get these days ! :x

Aku: Yes, I had the 03 headlights on my car, and bought a new set of 06+ projectors to begin "modding" for this project. You *could* use the stock 04 lights and source 4 projectors to do the same job, but I would recommend against this for two reasons:

1) The 06+ bezel looks better (look closely at the difference between the two)

2) It would look way less "OEM" because you would have to develop your own custom shroud to fit in the bezel for both the TOP and BOTTOM projectors. I guess if you were superman you could make it look nice but in the end it's easier to start with 06+ projectors. good luck!

I am in the process of doing a quad retrofit right now on my headlights and was wondering if this was the relay you used for the fog light projector. I am assuming if I use this relay and then connect the power + to the old fog light + it shouldn't turn off when I use my high beams correct? Any help/advice would be hugely appreciated!!!
