I have an 05 coupe and bought some 06 lightly smoked taillights from a member on here. I also have 06 projector headlights I bought almost a year ago with no problem. A week later I noticed that my blinker would blink twice and then stop.. It would repeat that same pattern with the blinker light barely emitting any light and then the blinker light stopped, but inside the blinker indicator would blink rapidly.
I took it to a mechanic and he said that the wires in the tail light were split and grounded and he fixed it, but it didn't solve the problem. He finally figured out that the electrical module that controls the blinking function has shorted because the tail light.
My question is if I bring in my 05 coupe with 06 headlights and taillights and try to get the dealer to warranty it, will they? Or will they refuse to do service because the lights are from a different year? Should i temporarily put on 05 tail and head lights and then send it into the dealer? I don't want to pay $400 for a new module just to fix a blinker problem, but its getting annoying basically merging without being able to signal.
