Changing my entire headlight!
Hey guys,
So after many mods, it's now time to mess with the exterior lights... after a couple of days researching... this is what I came up with:
Changing following on my 04 Coupe, getting it all from Vleds...
City lights and License Plate:
194/168/158 bulbs
http://v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/Parki...11110-1-2.html
Clear corners
6" White LED Strips
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...tml194/168/158 bulb.
headlight's turn signal
Chrome 7443 bulbs that shine amber, but I'll mod it so that it only lights up when I use the turning signal, to prevent the amber color to mess up the white light patern (I'm switching the housing lens to clear....)
clearance strip
12" White LED Strips
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...74229-1-3.html
Could someone who knows their products (LED Mastassss) check to make sure that these will work??
Do you guys think that adding the led strips for the clearances AND clear corners too ricey?? Maybe just Clearance?
Do I need to change any other bulbs to match?
Oh yeah i'm also painting the housing flat black in the processDOMO
I'm gonna wait for replies to make sure I got it all figured out... then I'll get to it, and post pictures after I'm done

Is it possible to insert the LED strip without having to open up the headlight assembly? One of my bulbs just went out, and I had originally planned on replacing them with the LED replacement for the bulb until I stumbled across ConradoR's other post where he posted pics of the headlights. Figured I'd ask the question here because this is where I found the links to the strips he used.
PS: ConradoR, I blippin' LOVE those lights, mang!

MrMArc,
I can't think of a way to get in there without separating the whole assembly, since you have to remove the original plastic part of the clearance strip in order to fit the led strip.
Then, to make it look as close to stock as possible, you have to cover the led strip with some kind of flourescent light cover (the sheet of plastic that goes in front of those flourescent tube lights in offices). Got mine from Lowes.
Took me about two days to do the whole assembly, including dremeling the ugly orange turning signals, and fitting ones made from the flourescent light cover. So make sure to have enough time or another car to use it if you need to.
Good luck

Thanks ConradoR. I actually plan on doing this first on a set of extra headlights if not to simply practice on first. I am hoping it all goes well and I end up bring able to do a projector retro since I do want to keep the clearance lamp.
can someone tell me how to remove the lens from the assembly? it has epoxy all around it, and I was wondering the best and easiest way to remove it, since this is my first major DIY project. Thanks for the help.
