Headlight Removal. Help.

Hey, currently taking out the headlights on a 2005 g coupe, and having some trouble. The wires/harness that attach the headlight to the car isn't going anywhere. I've tried to feel for the clip underneath the light with no luck, so I pull hard on it, and I hear a snap. It seems the top plastic rail looking thing has snapped and the connector is still attached to the car, but now, it is hanging in place, instead of being connected to the headlight.

My question is, is there a problem with that rail being snapped? Or can I just leave it like that when I put the headlights back on. it seems like the rail was just there to prevent it from moving, but how it hangs out, doesn't seem like it will move much anyway.

And second question, How do I unclip the headlight from the car? Now that the connection is just hanging there, I can rotate it so the bottom clip is on top, and I have a clear view, I just don't know how to "unlock" it. I don't want to stick a screwdriver and just pry it off because I'm afraid it won't lock back into place when I'm done with the lights.

If anybody can give me some tips/help, i'd appreciate it.

the "cliprail" is not a big deal being broken..it doesnt really serve any purpose but to keep the wiring from dangling, which you dont see anyways.

as for uncliping the hl from the main harness..theres a spot in the top of the clip that needs to be pressed in..you can use a flat head screwdriver to do this...while pressing in the "lock" on the clip pull them apart simultaniously and it should seperate

They are off, and i'm baking them. G35Papa's guide says 14 minutes at 220 degrees on bake. How easy should they be to pull apart? And instead of the 4-5 tabs he says, i see about 9-10 tabs. Should it be really easy to pull apart? Or does it take a lot of force? Because 14-15 minutes is not letting the assembly come apart. Bah, this DIY was harder and more time consuming than i thought lol
