Nope. Doesn't work like that. The human eye can't see blue that well, so the higher the K value, the dimmer the light is to the human eye. When you start getting up to 8K, 10K or 12K lights, all that changes is the light wavelenght, and not the actual lumens. An 8K bulb is dimmer than stock 4300K...only because your eyes can't see blue as well.
Brightest HID bulb is pretty much the stock 4300K, or lower...like a 3K yellow bulb. You start getting to 5K or higher and visibility drops.
Now if you want to change your bulbs for visual appeal, then go ahead. Guys commonly do 3K fogs and 8K low beams, or 8K in both, but just don't fool yourself into thinking these are brighter than what you have now.
I run a 5K Low beam and 3K halogen fog lights/high beam.
Do 8000K fog lights and low beams, 8000K on the G look like 6000 on any other car, right now I'm driving with 8000K hid fog lights and no low beams whatsoever and I can see wayy better at night then the stock halogens, when I get to install the 8000K hid low beams that I got sittin around I'm gonna have even more visibility at night. 8000k is more like a super white rather then blue I got both of my kits for like 55-60$ each, PM me if u want the links
Be careful with cheap kits, some of them melt wires and stuff. Get 3k for fogs and 8k if you like for low beams, i have 8k on my low beams right now and its not bad other cars with 4.3k definetly drowns out my lights at night. Driving in the rain with 8k's sucks, 3k fogs combined with them help but not as much.
Also HID bulbs change color over time and sometimes get bluer, my lights look a litlle bluer now. I got my kit from 3bspec.com and there kits are good and comes with a 1yr warrenty.

I was actually reading something the other day that said HID's in reflector housings appear to be lower K than they would look in a projector. Maybe this is why the 4300K bulbs in TL's have a hint of blue while ours don't. I'm going with Philips Crystal Vision 5000K's when I replace mine. I think they actually output at 5400K.
It has to do with the projector lens and how it displays the light. It's not really changing the K value of the light. That's why Maxima's and TL's have a little bit of blue and purple in their lights. But, the next time you see one, notice where you see the blue and purple. You don't see it head on, but rather on the side or very top of the cutoff line. The projector bends the light here displaying different colors. The main beam area is still 4300K. The next time you see a max/TL, try to position yourself right on the cutoff line. If it hits a bump, you'll see what i mean.
You can see what I mean in this photo. The blue is only present at the very edge of the cutoff. This area is also the main area other driver's will see. It gives the illusion of the car having a blue light, but really the main beam area is normal 4300K light allowing you to be able to see

Like i said before, if you wish to change the K value of your low beam bulbs, then go right ahead, but don't kid yourself that they are brighter than stock. They will just look bluer. Drive in the rain for the first time at night with them and you'll realize exactly what I mean. The human eye can't see blue. 8K bulbs are DIMMER than 4300K bulbs.
Fogs are a different story. If you swap from halogen to HID you are increasing lumens, so it will be brighter, but the best "fog" light is a low K value like 3K.
If you are looking for a white light, 5000K is about where you'll find it. 4300k does contain a little tinge of yellow. 6K and higher and you start adding blue. 8K is pretty blue. 10K starts to get dark blue and 12K is purple.
