Has anyone ever done clear taillights?

I wanna do something different with the tails. Tinting is cool, but I did it with my last car (Celica) and got tired of police getting on me in the daytime, and then I eventually had to remove the tint just to pass inspection.

What I'm looking for is the same type of taillight setup the '06-'08 FX had: clear lense, dark chrome housing (same as our headlights), and red LEDs. Basically this for our cars:

I'm not talking about altezzas. Damn, calm down. It was a simple question.

Clear lens are altezzas. People do not do it and if they do, they would be laughed and banned from the forum

Not without being laughed at....=)

Ok....we're calm. Those tails have been around for what no less than 10 years and the trend has switched back to darker/red/overlay/painted tails. Clear tails like shown are just fugly, you need to be different that's the way to go.... Sorry, it's about taste!

hey easy now. look the guy asked a question, but he didn't ask to be judged. Its his car not yours. I wouldn't do it, but I also respect his taste. And at least what he is talking about doing doesnt involve red bubbly style altezzas. He wants the OEM look from the FX.
To answer you question, I am pretty sure no one makes anything like that for our cars. At least I haven't seen them.

Thank you. It was a simple question. I don't want big, round lights with chrome housing. Just the same lighting style that the FX had. I stated that in the original post. Seems like people just read the title and went crazy.

I know no one makes them, but I see guys here doing their own thing with all types of mods.

if you were to take the tail lights apart, which in itself is a little tricky, you may be able to have some clear lenses made off the originals if you can find some place that has a vacuum forming rig and go through some trial and error
