As I said its still a work in progress and wanted to
see people that have done this to give their input
on how to get rid of the blue and make the Z sharper.
I'm going to play with it again tonight
going to try and make the shield more curved
and move the shield that is furthest from the bulb down
unless someone had some better suggestions
have you already messed around with / bent the cutoff shield? it looks like you have slight flare on the left side of the beam... but i can't tell for sure because the width of your color band looks like stock projector + clear lens... more details on what you've done and what you are trying to accomplish would be great... I will subscribe to this to help.
also, why did you say "get rid of blue" ? I thought you wanted to colormod it? i.e. add color? When you colormod it by messing around with the cutoff shield you will (always, i thought) have a larger band of purple than blue.. its just that cameras dont pick up on the purple as well usually

I haven't tried curving the shield which is what I'm going to try tonight
I also understand that bending down the shield that is furthest from the bulb would help you achieve a sharper cutoff according to IvoryGT DIY.
I want to add color just not that much but right now I'm happy keeping it like that just trying to make the cutoff sharper
Your cutoff looks pretty sharp right now. There isn't much involved in making the cutoff sharp other than replacing the stock lens with an optically clear lens, which you have done with the FX-R. If you think that your cutoff looks fuzzy now, just go remind yourself what it looked like before the lens swap
Bending the shield down a bit... (do you mean down and forward, i.e. towards the lens and down?) If this is what you meant, that would explain the slight flare up on the left side of your beam in picture #1. You want to avoid this as much as possible because that is the side that other drivers are on. You can moderate this result by "twisting" the ends of the cutoff shield so that the ends retain their original height.
I ended up cutting off the "front half height" shield thing that is attached to the cutoff shield, because that isn't the part that blocks the light anyway.
Have you modified your projector bowl spacer yet? The piece that separates front of projector housing from the projector bowl and controls cutoff shield height?

You shouldn't have to cut off any part of the shield to get color across the cutoff line. But it does take quite a bit of trial and error with bending of the shield to get the best results.
^ agree with the trial and error part.. i did it to all 4 of my projectors, and even once i figured out how i wanted it, it was still hard to perfectly replicate each time. we are talking half of millimeters.... so frustrating and never want to do it again

These are today's pictures after doing the final adjustment
Pictures were taken at about 25+ ft

I tried to minimize the flare up on the side.
Every time i fix the flared up on the side the Z would get fuzzy
every time i got the Z sharp there would be a slight flare up.
I tried putting pressure on the center and push on the sides to eliminate the flare.
Still have to go back at it.
I cut the spacer/retainer (Per IvoryGT DIY) so the cutoff shield could sit higher and get the sharp cutoff.

I figure I would play with them before laying my hands on my good assemblies.
My headlights are at the bodyshop with the car so I'm limited to what I have on hand.
If you know anyone that has a passenger side projector assembly or a busted up 06 passenger side headlamp assembly let me know.
I would like to get both done at the same time so when I open up my assemblies I can just drop them right in.
I'll check at home to see which side I have. I know I broke one of my own when working on it so I *do* have a single side laying around, just not sure which one. I'll reply later.
