HID bulb testing?

HID bulb testing?
Is there a way to test the bulb and/or the system to see if it's the bulb or the ballast? My right HID has gone out again, last time. It went out, it came back on it self and worked for the last two years. Until now.

For me, I use a jump start battery pack hooked up to aftermarket ballast and harness
