If you replace the white bulb with an amber one the problem goes away and it matches the parking lights.

Sadly, that was on of the things I tried... no luck. It just smells weird now.

However, I only soaked it for a few hours. I'll try soaking it over night for good measure.

I like it. Amber LED in the clearance strip and clear corner. I just wish someone made a clear blinker using the same material as the Nissan clear corners. You could drop an amber bulb in there as well to complete that look.

On that note, there is a clear plastic insert in the bezel where the clearance strip is. It would be dank to have an amber insert to match the stock amber side markers and amber blinker.

No luck... Once they turn yellow, it's over. I'm pretty happy I found the clean set I snagged. I love knowing I have a super clean set to rock if I want. Good idea to have when I resell the car too.

I have my original yellowed set that I modded in right now. I basically removed the fugly yellow clearance strip, and replaced it with fabricated piece that holds a 6000K LED strip. That's a pretty good work around for the yellowed clearance strip I'd say.

Sure, you can do whatever you want. I replaced the clearance strip with a fabricated color matched insert with a LED strip. Go crazy, use you imagination.

Pic of the mod I did below. These are no longer in the car because I resprayed them copper, which looks horrible.

Sorry, no close up pics...

^ the lens for the strip can come out, but then there is still diffused plastic in front of the bulb.

^so wat does that mean? not a good idea to remove the strip? i do recall trying to poke my finger thru the light bulb socket to see if its how and yes its blocked. theoretically if i bake the headlights and drill a hole in blocked off wall part could i be lazy and jus slide a led strip in there? is it hollow behind the wall part?

Not sure what you mean by that.

if you bake them you wouldn't have to slide the led strip in?

But if you drilled a hole, it would look so half assed and ghey. It would bounce around and just look like a pile of ****.

You can remove the lens, but the diffused plastic behind is attached to the rear enclosure.

Ohh I see what you mean, there would just be no way to hold it tight at the bottom so it would flop around a lot.

Hang on, I'm uploading a photo

That piece is bolted in, it looks stupid without it in there.

jus found this pic from the halo diy. now would the headlight not look like this without the clearance strip put back? if it does, looks alot better imo without the strip. probably wont light up the area anymore tho huh. im guessing the strip somehow absorbs the light to illuminate itself
