You're probably going to get flamed for putting an 8000k bulb in the HID, but anyways, to the answers of your questions. You would not need to change the ballast. All HID (D2R bulbs) bulbs require the use of a ballast, which your stock one will work just fine on.

The yellow bulb that is under the HID is a halogen H4/9003 bulb. You CAN put an HID conversion kit in there, but it will create lots of glare for other drivers. Most people replace that halogen bulb that is yellow with another halogen bulb that is a little better quality (something like a Nokya or Silverstar Ultra).

Good luck and hope this helps!

you don't have to change the ballast. you don't even have to remove the headlights. If you know what you're doing, you can remove the old bulb and put the new one by reaching from the back of the headlights.(coupe at least)

we both agree that you can change the low beam w.o having to change the ballast. and I am 100% sure about that. I have 8000K for the LBs.

What he is refering to is about having the high beams (lights underneath the low beams) to HIDs.
You shouldn't do that. Those are not HID, they are halogen.
if you wanna change those, get the correct bulbs for it ( do a search to figure out the bulbs that can be used for proper replacement) or go to vleds.com and they have a replacement guide there.

and that's all.
Good luck and Noob on
