Project IBP: Projector Headlight Modding With A New Twist!

So I was down at Todd's (Ibelonginprison) for the weekend, and thought I would I take some pics of this new idea he had for modding part of his projectors. I must say, the results are eye-catching, and at the same time, not overdone either!

I'll let him fill you in on the fine details, but for the most part, the inner reflector housings for the fogs were painted with a yellow reflective spray paint and the inner housings were painted a satin black.. obviously the satin black isn't what's surprising... enjoy!!

A before & after...

the inner housings painted satin black...

both completed...

Cool idea...I know some guys run yellow bulbs but this way they look yellow (gold?) all the time. Todd gets an IGetOutofPrisonFree card.

I almost didn't do it... then I was like "meh, f*ck it. If everyone hates it, then they don't have to look at my headlights." I just didn't want to be accused of being a wannabe euro sack swinger. lol

It actually looks more yellow in real life than it does in these pictures. But it certainly does give you the idea. And it damn sure is still highly reflective. I set them in the sun to dry and nearly blinded myself. 0_o

I have some yellow HID's, but I don't know that they'll get installed before Z DayZ... I leave Wednesday night. *shrug* Once I have the headlights on the car again I'll take some pictures of regular bulbs in it, then take some pictures of the 3.5k HIDs so you can tell the difference.

Anyway, everyone who's seen them in person really digs it. So I guess I can say they turned out pretty well.

Tamiya has a clear spray paint for model cars that people use for tail lights, headlights, etc... and can be found at places like hobby shops or online. But this looks like DupliColor Metalcast Anodized paint or something like it.
