i think is is a flaw in the material as well, but all these people with cracked lenses like mine but with painted housings are starting to worry me about painting my housing eventually. its not worth it to me if it leads to causing cracks i am currently trying to get rid of...

theres nothing normal about these cracks other than apparently alot of ppl are starting to have them. you must be missing them and looking at the refractors or something

Yep. I mistook the refractors as being the cracks myself, but it's there and you can't miss it once you actually see it.

blacked out/clearcoated headlights.. looks good but bad night vision

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got my headlights blacked out at a very reputable body shop. They were sanded, clearcoated, the whole 9 yards. Looks great but visibility is terrible at night. Any ideas for improving brightness without damaging the paint or undoing my new paint?

I have an '04 with stock HID's

at least you wont be able to see the cracks, better yet, able to see anything at all! hahaha!

Thats the point of blacking out the housings so you can still see at night. Some people will learn at one point.

Was anyone with cracking housings (that did not mod) successful in getting Infiniti to replace their headlights?? My passenger side housing has cracked a butt-ton over the last few months and my drivers is on the same path. I tried to find a tsb with no luck.

Yep, got that replaced under warranty. But it's dealer-specific.

Same for me; mine looked more like your last photo. The first dealership I went to told me no and the second one tried to tell me no. I told them this was a defect of no fault of my own [and probably some other things] and they had some manager call me back. He went ahead and took care of it for me.
