Headlights different intensities?

Hey guys, my headlights have different intensities (my driver side being noticeably dimmer than my passenger side HID...)

I was wondering if the dealer will warranty a headlight replacement because of this. I have brought it to a dealer before and they said they couldn't find an issue with my lights...

Everybody who sat in my car noticed it...but the headlight isn't so dim that it is rendered useless...It is just noticeably dimmer than my passenger side headlight.

What do you guys think? Should I bring it to a different dealer to have it checked out? I already have almost 50k miles on my 07 g35x and my warranty ends in like a couple months.

this isn't a warranty issue. bulbs wear out, and it isn't abnormal that you might need to change the bulbs at 50k miles.

you don't need to replace the whole headlight cause of just the bulbs wear lol ...
Just buy another set of new bulbs and you're all set. The dealer won't warrany this, cause this is normal wear since you already got 50K.

I had the same problem with my Maxima. As bulbs get older they just wear out, sometimes burn out.

Tip: don't buy bulbs from the dealer. Dealer will charge you $$$$$$$$$$$ for their bulbs (just non-sense) , just buy some aftermaket, or OEM bulbs online. You'll need 4300K D2S bulbs.

Anyone know how to break that tamper proof seal that adjusts the headlights? I am having difficulty taking those cylinder tamperproof housings off. I feel like my headlights are also adjusted a little too low. I've driven loaner g35/g37 before and the headlights on those cars are aimed much higher.

I've never changed/adjusted my headlight bulbs so can't help you there. However, if you go to infinitihelp.com, register (it's free) and download the exterior lighting service manual for our G the link points to, it should all be there (both replacement and aiming). I would have uploaded the .pdf but it exceeds the site's upload limit.

I have done that already. Nowhere in that manual where it says that the adjuster has a tamperproof seal. I know the adjuster is in that seal, because it is in the same location as what the manual said. I just need someone who has done this to share their experiences.

BTW my vehicle has AFS, so it may be slightly different.

Yeah I've adjusted my headlights several times.
So what's AFS? Do you have a tech. package G, with tech. headlights? If that's the case, then adjusting might be different then mine.
In regular non tech. lights you just use a philips screwdriver to adjust the *** there and that's pretty much it, easy stuff.

the tamper proof cover is only for lateral adjustment. vertical adjusters should be in plain sight. this is a schematic for g37, maybe you can go off of this. i remember using an 8mm long socket to do my adjustments.

this is an image of the g37. i would look for similar adjustment bolts.

According to this thread: the g35 sedan has a tamper proof cover.

Your picture is the coupe, and I have found the gear for the foglight adjustment, and I don't see a gear for the headlight adjustment. I see a tamper proof cover exactly what the picture in that link shows. Nowhere else do I see another gear.

also take note that the driver side is aimed lower then the passenger (or vise versa) because at first my da kept telling me one side looked dim but when i aimed them to the same level the output evened out i left it like that because a few people kept telling me this.

I already readjusted the headlight positioning, but the driver side bulb is dimmer than the passenger HID bulb...

I just purchased a pair of Philips 85122 non + for $56 including shipping and tax...which I heard are one of the best. I also heard that our Infiniti Gs use Koito bulbs as OEM.

I'm worried that after even switching the HID bulbs I'll get the same result...Could it be any other problem? I don't think HID bulbs go bad this early...

The ballast is the other potential culprit. The amp inside can go bad.

I better see if switching the bulbs fixes the problem. Otherwise, I would have to take it into the dealer to have them check out the headlights.

I brought it to the dealer before a year ago and they said it was normal and couldn't find an issue...

The driver's side is only slightly dimmer than the passenger's side. I can still see well with the driver's side HID lit up.
