AAC halo hookup with a relay - suggestions?
Hey all,
I've had AAC halos installed for a while. they are hooked up directly to my parking lights, but unfortunately sap too much power and thus don't allow my front blinkers to work.
I was interested in changing the wiring so that they are set up via a relay such that they work when the parking lights go on, but use power linked from a wire that comes directly from the battery. Unless anyone has an alternative suggestion...
I specifically need to know the type of relay as well as where I can take the power from. I was thinking directly from the battery with a 10 gauge wire (or something like that), unless I can grab power from one of the headlight wires.
thanks in advance for any help.

I would pull it straight from the battery. That's what I did for my AAC halo's. A standard automotive relay will work (get one from local auto parts store). Also connected the relay to a switch inside the car so I can turn them off if I want. So basically, pulled an ACC current, ran it through a manual switch, then to the relay. This way, the lights will only come on with the accessory lights, so I don't have to worry about accidentally leaving them on.
