Replacement light-heated seat button

This has been driving me crazy but i haven't been able to find any info or kits to replace interior switch lights. One of my heated seat switch lights is out and it's driving me crazy. Any suggestions? Thanks,
Fletch

That's pretty awesome. Thanks! I'm thinking I'll just find some orange LED's so that I don't have to swap everything out. It really bothers me that that light doesn't come on. The light that shows that the seats are on works, but the illumination for the switch itself is out. Thanks again!

So i read that walkthrough and I'm wondering a couple things. What size led do i need (3mm maybe?). Also, would i need a resistor or could i just plug it into the power source without one? Here's a link to what i was thinking about getting: http://cgi.ebay.com/50p-3mm-SUPER-BRIGHT-ORANGE-LED-LAMP-13Kmcd-FREE-SHIP-/350084371454?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5182a793fe#ht_4130wt_689

If you've got some and want a couple bucks just shoot me a pm with your paypal and I'll shoot you my address. Thanks!

Ok, so I had no problems getting the center console apart or getting the heated seat buttons apart except... when I seperated the switch cover from the internals of the switch, the white plastic part (seen in the pictures in the link above) popped out (on both of them despite being careful). I lost one of the small springs (from the first one that popped out) and I'm not sure how the white pieces go back together on the switch. Anyone have any pictures or directions on how to re-assemble the switch internals? Also, I'm trying to think where I can get another tiny spring. I searched my whole garage and couldn't find it. Things always seem to complicate themselves for no good reason... Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Anybody know how the interior part of the switch (the white plastic piece) goes back together? Or could I just solder in the three pronged metal piece to the connections?

it just sits in there . The notches fit the shape of the housing so it can only really go in one way .

I'm wondering if the spring loaded part serves a purpose. When one of the switches came apart the spring portion disappeared. I'm just sort of wondering if soldering in the triple pronged switch to the connections would fix it or if I should just buy new switches. Thanks again for the assistance and the LED's work great! Also, any ideas on where to get new switches if I need to? I've looked on E-bay and it's hit or miss as to whether they have both sides or not. I'm also wondering if other Infiniti or Nissan switches would be plug and play. Hmm...

Ive been searching for this forever! What kind of resistors were used? I had so much trouble fitting the led's back into those stupid rubbery holders that I just gave up. Also on the 5AT.. do you guys know how to replace the leds on the park, drive, reverse lights?

The gear indicator you mean? Where it says park, reverse, neutral, drive? If so, that was super easy. Once you remove the center console you undo about 3 screws and the the aluminum cover comes off. There is a lightbulb down in there, but i just removed it by cutting the wires and then soldering them to my new led i was replacing it with. I used a 330 resistor bit it's not as bright as i would like so I'm probably going to be changing it.

Hey Fletch. Yes the gear indicator light. I havent been under there in a long time, but I remember holding back on it for a reason. You said there is a bulb right? Hmm.. Why did you solder? Can you replace that bulb with an led (any color) bulb? Or is it a weird bulb you can only get from the dealer sort of thing?

There is a bulb in a holder set into there under the shift selector. You just turn the bulb holder to release it from the console and then i cut the two wires going to it to remove the bulb holder. Then just wired in an amber led and soldered it. i guess it just depends on how comfortable you are with modifying your console.

Well I dont wanna get too crazy with it. If there is bulb and bulb holder there, ill just take the bulb out and replace it with a colored LED bulb. Dont remember it being that easy though.. ill take it apart this weekend and have a look.
