Short cut?

Hey guys I recently painted my headlights and upgraded to led's. I put the headlight back on the car and they only worked for a few days, now when I turn them on the fuse blows out. The taillights, license plate light and clearance lights have all stopped working. I have led's all around the car. When I unplug the headlights and replace the fuse the taillights work but at soon as I plug them in again I get a short cut. Can anyone please help??

Where do you have the leds wired into? Did you wire in resistors for the leds?

I used an led strip and they are wired to the clearance strip socket

Might try to find a different source to power the leds. Might just be enough draw to short it or maybe the wiring is exposed and could be touching something in the headlight.

^^Ya forsure it sounds like an exposed wire touching metal which is shorting it out

Sounds like you have a hot wire somewhere still. If you put it back the way it was and its still doing it now means somewhere its touching. May be a crimp when you were putting the wires back in.

I think I found the problem! I took out the new led bulbs outa the turn signal inside the HL and everything worked just fine, I wonder if I got bad led bulbs? I used t/20s amber! Do you guys have any idea why this is happening with the led bulbs?
