Rheostat Question - Instrument Panel Lighting
Rheostat Question - Instrument Panel Lighting
Hello,
Just purchased a used 2006 G35 - low km - great shape. However, I notice a strange thing with the rheostat that controls the instrument panel lighting. At times, the rheostat is 'stuck open' and maximum brightness is the only setting I can get on the instrument panel. The lighting for the shifter does not illuminate when the rheostat doesn't work... Occasionally, the rheostat does function properly and when that occurs, the shifter lighting illuminates as well.
Before I start a wiring/elec. trace from either the shifter lighting or the rheostat itself, are there any solutions that can be offered for this peculiar and annoying malfunction?
Thanks,
Dan in Vancouver
