running lights

I have a G35 coupe, which for some reason Infiniti did not equip with daytime running lights; despite the fact they do equip the Canadian cars that way. Does anyone know how to modify the car to add the lights without rewiring? Range Rover and BMW and a few others do it with a programming change.

Re: running lights

Rewiring will only run the lights all the time at full power. You can purchase a little unit from JC Whitney that runs the lights at 80% power when the car is started. If you have the HID from the factory, the voltage may not be enough to run the ballast.

Re: running lights

That's why our CDN DRLs run the high beams at reduced output. You could try hooking the DRL kit to the highs or fogs.

Re: running lights

Why don't you be smart and bring it back to the dealership? Don't listen to these US guys about re-wiring and stuff. The dealer will fix it for you. LOL

Re: running lights

Rumble,
The wiring schematic is different for the US and Canadian cars because of the DRL. Dealer would charge way too much even if they decided they wanted to do it. The most that can be done without touching/wiring anything is as you know, have the dealer program the automatic shut off for a shorter time.

Re: running lights

...or just cover up the light sensor on the dash so it will automatically turn on and off.

Re: running lights

Oh my bad...he's from the States. From what I got outta reading it the first time, I thought he was from Canada and his DRLs were not functioning. Sorry
