Everytime I turn the fog lights on my throttle pedal looses all response, my cel comes on, and I lose all power. Once I turn them off and restart my car I can go again and there are no issues besides the CEL.

Any Ideas on what this could be?

I do have an hid kit in the fog's but it took maybe 4 months before this starting being an issue so I'm assuming they didn't cause it. I do alot of headlight work and have never once come across this?!?! just glad it's on my car not someone elses....

The obvious way to go is to return to stock halogens and test it. This shouldn't be too bad if it's doing it constantly and not intermittently.

Our cars have heavy ECM integrated lighting controls, so I'd be at minimum disconnecting those HID's immediately until you resolve this.

 

sounds like something happened with your hid ballasts for the fog hids and when you turn them on you are getting a short with them or possibly just causing a ton of noise that screws up the ECU. One of them must have gone bad.
