Issue with hid conversion for fogs on 06-07 projectors

As the title says, I encountered a problem and just can't seem to find a solution, searched everywhere but couldn't find anything helpful to my particular situation, hope some of you might chime in.

So I bought a cheapo hid kit from ddmtuning to convert the stock fogs to hid. I have 06-07 U.S. spec projectors that I swapped onto my 04 Canadian g coupe. The projectors themselves work fine, but the fogs do not turn on whatsoever. I realise this might have something to do with the U.S. lights on Canadian car, but I have a friend who did the same setup on his 05 and everything works fine. I can't seem to isolate where the issue is coming from. We did the install together so slim chances of the issue being caused by improper installation. Any help/advice is welcomed! Thanks.

Here are a few pics of install process:

The black wire was connected to black and the red was connected to the yellow wire. I'm pretty sure that is correct because it works for me.

Is the end of the black wire connected to the backside of the lamp assembly still?

I had the same problem when I first installed the hid fogs. I guess I pulled the black wire to hard & it unattached from the headlight.

The negative spade should hook up to the female ground that's hooked up behind the reflector bowl.

That was the thing that gave me problems.
